Grocery and CPG brands

Amazon PPC agency for grocery and CPG brands

Grocery and consumer packaged goods (CPG) sell at low prices and get bought again and again, so every cent of cost per click (CPC) counts. A senior strategist sets bids on repeat-order value, pushes multipacks where the margin allows, and eases ads before stock or shelf life runs out.

What decides share

What decides share in grocery

Grocery is won on the reorder, at low prices, with stock and shelf life deciding what can be sold.

  • ReordersBought again and again
  • Thin marginsEvery cent of CPC counts
  • Shelf lifeExpiry dates decide stock

Grocery at a glance

Four things
ReordersHigh

A buyer orders again

Subscribe & Save and habit bring buyers back, so the first order is rarely the profit.

PriceLow

Low prices, thin margins

On a $10 item a few cents per click decide whether the ad pays. Multipacks raise the order value.

StockTight

Out of stock stops ads

A product out of stock stops its Sponsored Products ads and can slip in the search results.

Shelf lifeDated

Expiry dates on FBA stock

Amazon asks for expiry dates on dated FBA products, and stock close to its date can be removed.

01 · Where share is decided

Share is won on the reorder, at prices where every cent of CPC counts

Grocery and household items sell at low prices and get bought again and again. Margins are thin, stock and expiry dates decide what can be sold, and a product out of stock stops its ads.

Rules that move ads

What Amazon requires, and what it means for grocery ads

Some rules decide whether a grocery product, and its ads, can run at all.

  • Grocery and Gourmet Food
What Amazon requiresApproval for the category in some cases, and expiry dates on dated FBA stock
    What it means for ads

Stock close to its expiry date can be removed, which stops its ads. We plan spend around shelf life.

  • Every category
What Amazon requiresA featured offer and stock in hand
    What it means for ads

Sponsored Products ads do not show without the featured offer or when out of stock. We check both weekly.

FAQ

Grocery brand FAQs

Straight answers, no sales spin.

Do you work with grocery and CPG brands?
Yes. We run Amazon ads for food, drink, snack, coffee and household product brands on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.au.
How do you make PPC pay on low-price products?
We set bids on what a buyer is worth over their reorders, push multipacks and bundles that raise the order value, and target specific searches by flavour, size or diet instead of broad terms.
What happens to our ads when stock runs low?
Sponsored Products ads stop when a product is out of stock, so we watch stock and shelf life each week, ease spend before a product runs out, and build it back once stock arrives.
How much does Amazon PPC management cost for a grocery brand?
One flat monthly fee: $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 a month, set by your ad spend. It is never a percentage of your ad spend, there is no setup fee, and you can leave with 30 days' notice.
Should a grocery brand hire an agency or build in-house?
It depends on your spend and your team. At $40,000 a month in ad spend, an in-house hire costs about $6,000 a month in pay against our $2,500 flat fee, but gives you someone full-time. Many brands start with an agency and hire later.
Do you work with grocery and CPG brands in the UK and Australia?
Yes. We work with brands on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.au, with keywords, targets and a calendar for each marketplace.
